T: | Hello! Welcome to Hong Kong. |
G: | Hi. We'd like some information about public transportation tickets. We're here for only three days, and we'd like to use the MTR to visit places. |
T: | I'd be glad to help. There are two options I'd suggest. The first is the Tourist Day Pass. Each pass gives you one day of unlimited travel on the MTR. It costs HK$55. |
J: | Sounds economical. How about the other option? |
T: | The other is the Octopus card. You can use this for most forms of public transportation and to make purchases at many convenience stores. |
G: | How much does it cost? |
T: | The standard Octopus card requires a refundable deposit of HK$50. You can add value to the card at most MTR stations and other places. |
J: | We also wanted to visit The Peak by tram. Can we use the Octopus card to pay for the tram tickets? |
T: | Yes. But I'd suggest that you buy the Peak Tram Sky Pass. It costs HK$83. |
J: | What's unique about it? |
T: | It includes rides to and from The Peak and access to Sky Terrace 428, which is the highest 360-degree viewing platform in Hong Kong. |
G: | Thanks for the tip. Now, could you point us to the nearest MTR station? |
